Hello! It will be better to configure UE software for CFG accessories. The attached figure shows the CFG configuration method.If automatic data upload is checked on the control, and CFG is equipped with automatic data upload, you still can't receive the data returned by touch, so check whether the communication is normal. Whether baud rate, level and wiring are correct.

I've checked setting into CFG and now touch key return is operating as it should.
Your suggested method is more  versatile, CFG over UART,
